IMF-SFI-IDF Seminar on Fintech in China

At the invitation of IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde, the Shanghai Finance Institute (SFI) and the Institute of Digital Finance (IDF) at Peking University held a seminar with the IMF on Fintech in China on June 18, 2019 in Washington D.C. The theme of the seminar was "Technology and Financial Services: Frontiers of Digital Payments".

The Seminar consisted of four panels, and experts and policymakers had discussions on data privacy and protection, competition and cooperation between banks and non-bank payment institutions, micro-credit in the era of big data and the prospects of financial technology.

This is the second time that the Chinese delegation had a Fintech dialogue with its international counterparts and shared their experiences on Fintech development on the international stage.
